Just thinking this morning that as Christians, our goal should simply be that we press toward the mark! We should strive to live Christlike and be in his will, making ready for eternity in the presence of God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ!!
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:14 KJV
This one little verse in the bible holds a lot of inspiration. It shows us that we are never going to be perfect in this world but that our goal is to do the best we can and to live Christlike. We are to "Press Toward" or in other words we are to continue daily in our walk with Christ, striving to do all that we can to obtain that prize that is awaiting us someday.
Jesus teaches us that his GRACE IS SUFFICIENT!! 2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
He also teaches us that we are to live ONE DAY AT TIME, we can not change things that are going to happen, we can only hope to be what God would have us to be and to someday spend eternity in his presence!!
Matthew 6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
