Taste and See

Sharing the gospel of Christ is the duty of every christian.  We are to tell others about the Lord and his goodness so that they have the same opportunity that we had to come to know him as Lord and Savior in their lives.  Satan would have you believe that you are not worthy of God's grace, but Satan is a liar and the father of lies.  

John 8: 44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Many believe that they need to get their lives in order before coming to Christ, but God does not expect you to fix everything.  He tells us to come to him all who are heavy laden and he will give us rest. 

Mathew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

 We can't fix things by ourselves.  While the words "Come just as you are" are not found in the bible, there are many scriptures that show us that God does indeed want us to come to him just as we are and allow him to heal our broken hearts and make us whole.  Following are just a few scriptures that teach us that God wants us to come to him just as we are.  They don't teach us that we need to get our lives in order.  They don't teach us that we have to stop all of our bad habits before coming to him.  They simply teach us to "COME"

Joel 2:32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered:

Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

Satan would have you to believe that you need to make yourself worthy before coming to God, but the truth is that you will never be worthy.  If we could make ourselves worthy then Christ would have died in vain.  His GRACE would not be needed, but thank God we are saved by GRACE and not by making ourselves worthy.

I invite you today to come to Christ.  Talk with him and get to know him.  He loves you just as you are.  If you come to know Christ and find that you are not content in your relationship with him, then I promise you that Satan is standing close by and will be happy to take you back.  The bible tells us to taste and see that the Lord is good.  Forget about trying to make yourself worthy and just kneel and talk it over with him.  Get a taste of Christ's goodness.  

Psalms34:7 The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

8 O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

9 O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.

10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.

Forgiveness

Do you know the importance of forgiveness. 

Our ability to forgive others is the key to whether or not we are forgiven and will be able to spend eternity with God.  Forgiving someone is a very hard thing for the flesh to do and many times seems almost impossible, but when we finally let go of the hurt and anger and forgive that person we find that we are filled with a remarkable sense of love and security.  I speak from experience not just from the need to witness for Christ.  I have forgiven others of things that I thought would never be possible and some of them probably don't even realize that I have truly cried their names out to God and prayed for them.  God in turn has forgiven me and blessed me above and beyond all that I could hope for.  Start praying for that one that you thought you could never forgive and watch what happens in your life.  God's word will never come back void, he will hear your prayers and you will be blessed and forgiven.

Mark 11: 25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

Anger

How do I know if my anger is righteous anger?

Don't let the devil fool you into sinning.

All my life I have heard people say, get angry but sin not. I have ask myself, how do I get angry and not sin? Anger itself can be a sin unless it is righteous anger. This brings us to the question, what is righteous anger?

Righteous anger has at least three attributes.

1: It arises and reacts because of SIN and your hatred for sin, not because someone did something you did not approve of.

2: It focuses on God and how he feels about the situation and not on yourself.

3: It is always accompanied with Godly qualities in your life such keeping self control and praying over the situation.

When you get angry or mad at something, look at it. Are you angry at the person or are you angry at the sin. Righteous anger will be directed toward the sin and not the person. You should still feel love for the person and pray for them while being angry at what they have done. Righteous anger is always directed at the sin which is the thing that God hates. God hates sin and won't look upon it. The prophet Habbakuk taught us this.

Habbakuk 1:13 Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?

Man always tries to justify his anger by thinking it is righteous. One of Satan's greatest tools is to fool man into believing his anger is righteous when in fact it is usually a sin in itself.  Man's anger is rarely righteous.

James 1:19-20:  Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:  For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

Soul vs Spirit

Is there a difference between the soul and the spirit?  To answer this question you must go to God's word.  The primary meaning of the words, soul and spirit is invisible force.  These two words are so closely related that it is hard to distinguish the difference between the two of them but there is a difference.

We are a spirit being, we live in a body and we possess a soul

^{1 Thessalonians 5:23} And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

^{Hebrews 4:12} For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

In general you could say that the spirit is that which knows.

^{1 Corinthians 2:11} For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

And the soul is that which feels.

^{Job 14:22} But his flesh upon him shall have pain, and his soul within him shall mourn.

The spirit is what allows us to have an intimate relationship with God.  The spirit connects with God because God is a spirit.  

^{John 4:24} God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Our spirit is instantly reborn and made new the moment we accept Christ, but the soul is not born again. Our souls are transformed by the renewing of our minds:

^{Romans 12: 2} And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

^{Ezekiel 36:26} A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

^{2 Corinthians 5:17} Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Better be Ready!

God woke me up and gave me another day, I am thankful. Now the devil is telling me I am foolish to want to share a dream with any who would read it, but I'm going to share it anyway, because if the devil thinks it's foolish then it must be just the opposite because he is a liar. I dreamed last night that I was in a large crowd of people in a big beautiful building with lots of passageways. I knew many of these people but most were strangers to me. But it was a church gathering. They had food everywhere like a storage pantry. They were all getting ready to do a play of some kind and people all gathered in. I ask a lady what they were doing and she said oh, it's just a play, but then the children gathered around and started chanting something strange. I turned again and said what does that mean, what are they doing. These were supposedly christian people and she said,  it's just a play, the words are saying "Give it all to him, give it to the devil" but this is not for real it's just a play. I stood up and began rebuking them all in the name of Jesus and shouting to them that they should be ashamed to let their children be in such a play and the Holy Ghost came upon me and I began rebuking them in tongues and gathering my church children to leave that place. My cousin, Reba White was there and she began singing a song about Giving it all to Jesus as I was leaving.
I have never dreamed anything like this before that I can remember. I dream all the time and have since I was a child, but this is the first time I have felt that it had true meaning behind it and God was trying to tell me something for someone. Jesus is coming soon and we better get ready. No more pretending, we better be ready because in a moment, in the twinkle of an eye he will call his children home. Don't be in the middle of something that is "Just a play" and miss the real thing!!

Today could be your last day!

God told us in his word to watch the signs, that his children would know when the time of his coming was close at hand. I believe that those times are today. You can see it on every hand. Men have become lovers of themselves, Christians are persecuted today in a country that once held God above all else, people have become blinded and are calling what is sin the right way. They murder our children through abortion by the thousands. God said his spirit would not always strive with man. One day he will say enough is enough and he will step out on the clouds of Glory and call his children home. That day could be today. If you thought today was your last day, would you seek his face? I believe God's children must leave this world in the rapture before many of the tribulations can come to pass, today could be your last. Jesus loves you and suffered a cruel death on the cross, taking your sins upon himself so that you would not have to suffer the horrible tribulations that are coming upon this world. All you have to do is accept him, love him and he will open his arms and wrap you in them and bring a peace to your life that is beyond all comprehension. Seek him today while he can still be found.

He is risen

God has blessed us to awake to another beautiful day. He loves us even though we are unworthy of that love. I am so thankful that he is a part of me and he knows my name. He said my sheep hear my voice and a stranger they will not follow.... The Lord is my Sheppard!  May his blessings be yours on this Easter morning and may you hear his voice calling your name.
